“Skip” Gates: A Curious Martyr in the Struggle Against Racism

30-07-2009 20:48

Dr. Henry Louis Gates
President Obama’s “friend” Dr. Henry Louis Gates has been richly rewarded for arguing “that poor African-Americans are largely to blame for the fact that blacks stand at the bottom of the nation’s steep socioeconomic pyramid.” Presumably, and by the same logic, Gates must now blame himself for getting arrested in his own home by a Cambridge policeman.

Bigg Green athering forced to cancel at the last minute!

26-07-2009 17:07

After news yesterday that the Big Green Gathering was facing a Hight Court hearing on Monday morning for an injunction against the festival applied for by Mendip District Council and the police, today the directors of the Big Green Gathering seem to have voluntarily surrendered the license for the BGG 2009, and thus cancelling the event just 48 hours before it was due to start. With people already on site setting up the infrastructure for the diferent areas and programs of the festival, and leaving thousands of people wondering what to do with their already bought coach and train tickets, no doubt these knews come as a big dissapointment for many people.

18-07-2009 08:32

Preparing for the event
City pigs are truly back with their snouts in the trough, and to celebrate this, Chris Knight and others from the 'The Government of the Dead' came into the heart of the City of London tonight for a 'Bonuses are Back Pig Party', wearing pig masks and setting up a trough with 'Pig Pounds' mixed with pig swill and getting snouts down and bottoms up to wallow in it. 16-07-2009 20:41

Howard Zinn’s play, “Marx in Soho” portrays the return of Marx. Embedded in some secular afterlife where intellectuals, artists, and radicals are sent, Marx (played by Jerry Levy) is given permission by the administrative committee to return to Soho London to have his say. But through a bureaucratic mix–up, he winds up in SOHO in New York.
